Berivan Cecen received her M.S. degree in Biomechanics from Dokuz Eylul University and Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Dokuz Eylul University-Izmir Institute of Technology. She worked as a research assistant in Dokuz Eylul University. Before obtaining her Ph.D. degree, she studied with Professor Josef Guttmann at the Klinik für Anästhesiologie, Universitätsklinikum Freiburg in 2010. Afterwards, she joined Professor Ali Khademhosseini's lab as a postdoc fellow in Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School in 2016-2017. She joined to Zhang lab in March, 2019 as a visiting scientist. Her research interests include organ-on-a-chip, 3D bioprinting, scaffolds for bone-cartilage, tissue engineering, stem cells.
