(Carol) Xia Cao is an Associate Professor at School of Pharmacy, Jiangsu University located in Zhenjiang, China. After graduating from School of Pharmacy in Jiangsu University, she received her master degree in Pharmaceutics in 2008 and PhD degree in Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics in 2011 from the Medical School of Jiangsu University. She has published 30+ articles in SCI journals, more than 20 authorized patents and 3 authorized PCTs. She has hosted one project as PI funded by the National Nature Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and 3 other projects from the government or university, and participated in 4 other projects from NSFC. Her research is focused on biomaterials in biomedical application, including: 1) novel nano vector for drug/gene delivery, 2) induced pluripotent stem cell with non-viral methods, 3) construction of tissue-engineered organs, 4) induced differentiation of stem cells. She joined Prof. Zhang’s group in January 2018 as a Visiting Scientist. Her research here is mainly focused on tissue engineering, biomaterials, and organ on a chip.
