Carolina Parra Cantú is a medical student in Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. In 2017 she won the first prize in the Nuevo Leon State Health Research Competition. She has published in the official journal of the Mexican Society of Cardiology and the National Institute of Cardiology Ignacio Chavez. In 2015 she did a research internship in UTSA to increase her knowledge in cell survival after ERK2 knockout. She has done research in cell therapy for tissue regeneration for the last 4 years as a medical student. Her goal is to translate knowledge gathered in basic sciences to a clinical application in order to give society diagnostic and treatment options that are cheaper and more efficient for health preservation. She joined the Zhang Laboratory in April 2019 focusing on organ-on-a-chip, tissue model, and bioprinting.
