Karen Chávez is recently studying Biotechnology Engineering with specialization in molecular biology at Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey Campus Querétaro, México. She has worked with tissue culture, microfluidics, synthetic biology, evolutionary biology, molecular biology, molecular diagnostics and cancer biology. She did a research internship at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nueva Escocia, Canada. She also worked with microfluidics and nanocomponents specialized in targeting drug delivery for cancer treatments in México. She joined the Zhang laboratory in January 2019 and her current interest and work are focused on tissue engineering, biomaterials, and organ on a chip.
